David Wonders, DVM
David Wonders, DVM, was born in Tampa, FL and grew up in Habersham county. He is a 1983 graduate of Habersham Central High, and has a B.S. in Biology from North Georgia College. He earned his doctorate in veterinary medicine at the University of Georgia. Dr. Wonders has special interests in small animal soft tissue and orthopedic surgery.
He is the past president of the Northeast Georgia Veterinary Medical Association. He and his wife, Paula, are the parents of Emily Grace and Kevin Richard. They have 2 cats named Coconut and Pom Pom, and one dog named White Socks. His hobbies are golf, tennis, and computer gaming. His goal is to continue to make Clarkesville Veterianry Hospital the best general veterinary hospital in northeast Georgia.
Lee Barton, DVM
Lee Barton, DVM is from Hazlehurst, Georgia. He is a 2007 graduate of Jeff Davis High and has an Associates degree in Biology from South Georgia College as well as a B.S. in Animal Science from the University of Georgia. Dr. Barton received his doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Georgia in 2015. He has an interest in small animal cardiology, neurology, and soft tissue surgery. Outside of work, Lee enjoys hunting, fishing, hiking, camping, and playing with his Rottweiler, Titan. His wife, Nicole, is also a veterinarian.
Kate DiTulio, DVM
Kate DiTulio, DVM is from Cordova, TN. She received her Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Berry College, and graduated in 2015 from The University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. Her special interests include reproductive medicine and orthopedics. When she's not working, Kate enjoys hiking with her golden retriever, Kylie, and curling up with a good book. Dr. DiTulio is dedicated to compassionate, high-quality care for her patients and to never stop learning.
Carl Williams, DVM
Carl Williams, DVM was raised in the small town of Montezuma, GA. He received his Associates in Science from Young Harris College and a Bachelors of Science in Biology from the University of Georgia. He graduated with his doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Georgia in 2012. Dr. Williams loves working with all animals with special interest in ophthalmology and soft tissue surgery. When not at work, he enjoys fishing, kayaking, and backpacking.
Katie Penland, DVM
Dr. Katie Penland received a Bachelor's in Animal Science from Berry College in Rome, Ga. She obtained her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2012 from University of Georgia. She has special interests in internal medicine, emergency/critical care and acupuncture. Dr. Penland studied Veterinary Acupuncture and Chinese Traditional Medicine through the Chi Institute of Florida. She belongs to several memberships including American Veterinary Medical Association and Georgia Veterinary Medical Association.
Dr. Penland is originally from Sandy Springs, Georgia and currently lives there with her husband, Seth. Together, they have a full house/farm of furry family members include a cat (Tonka), Australian Cattle Dog (Dixie), a Belgian/ Thoroughbred horse (Scandal) and two miniature goats- (Steve and Rosie). Outside of work, Dr. Penland enjoys doing dressage with her horse, Scandal, as well as playing tennis and doing dog agility with her dog, Dixie.
Marcie Eldred, DVM
Marcie Eldred, DVM, is originally from Covington, Georgia. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Georgia in 2011 as well as her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. She has a special interest in dermatology and neurology. Outside of work, Dr. Eldred enjoys traveling, discovering new restaurants and cheering on the Bulldogs during football season. Dr. Eldred and her husband, Eric, have one dog - an English Setter named Huck.
Jennifer Harris, DVM
Dr. Jennifer Harris graduated from the University of Georgia CVM with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. She is pictured with her Labrador, Anney, and two of her three terrier mixes, Elley and Nelley. Her favorite times are spent with her animals and family in the beautiful outdoors at her childhood home in Nicholson, Georgia.
Kendra Hilsenteger, DVM
Kendra Hilsenteger, DVM, hails all the way from the Great White North in Alberta, Canada. She received her B.Sc. in Animal Health from the University of Alberta, and graduated in 2017 from The Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, SK, Canada. She has a special interest in wellness and preventative medicine. In her spare hours she enjoys spending quality time with her boyfriend Rob and exploring her new found home in NE Georgia. Dr. Hilsenteger strives to develop positive and trusting relationships with her clients.
Tasha is a native to beautiful Habersham County and loves spending time with her family. She began working with us in 2007 as a Receptionist, later she began her training as a Veterinary Assistant, and is now our Practice Manager. With her wonderful husband and her beautiful daughter by her side, together they enjoy trail riding, fishing, and camping. On her down time she loves to sit out on the porch with their 80# lap-dog "Jake" (their yellow lab) and read.
Jessica has been in the veterinary field for 8 years and holds an associate's degree in veterinary technology. Her interests include critical care nursing, surgery, and working with neonatal patients. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her husband Nathan and family, swimming, and traveling. Her pet family includes three dogs: Princess, Bubba Zeus, and Gypsy girl as well as her cats Molly Boots and Matilda. Jessica has been of our emergency assistants for the past 5 years and her goal is to continue to give our patients the best care that she can.
Born and raised in Carnesville, GA Nicky has three dogs, Boomer, Missy, and Peanut. She also has a few exotic pets! Those are 6 tarantulas, 2 chameleons, and a leopard gecko. Nicky is enrolled at North Georgia University as a biology major. In her spare time she enjoys going kayaking, hiking and horseback riding.
Allison started as a volunteer when she was in high school and when she graduated she started working with us full time. She has a Husky, a Golden-doodle and many cats and loves animals with a passion. She enjoys spending time outside with her friends, family and her fur babies when she is not working or in her college classes.
Sabrina was born and raised in Kennesaw but made her way to the north Georgia mountains about 5 years ago. She is currently studying biology at Piedmont College and will graduate with a Bachelors of Arts and Sciences honors degree in spring 2017. From a young age Sabrina had a strong love for animals which led her to working at Clarkesville Veterinary Hospital. She currently has 6 cats, a house rabbit, and two turtles. During her free time, Sabrina loves going on hikes, watching movies and spending time with her family.
Krista is a Habersham County native. She joined our team in 2015 and has loved every second of being with us. She enjoys working with the emergency cases and giving that special love and care to all hospitalized patients. When she isn't working, or recording our radio show (Coffee, Cats, and Canines) she likes to spend time with her husband and son. She has a dog named Jeffry and a cat named Kit the Cat. She gives every patient she encounters the love and attention she hopes you would give to her babies.
Megan is still in high school and has loved animals ever since she was little and she still has a passion for them now. She has two dogs of her own, Boss and Blue. She wants to pursue a career as a Veterinarian so she can spend her days working with various animals and helping all those in need.
Born and raised in Habersham County, Lori has always had a passion for animals. She enjoys spending time with her two kids Kaitlyn and Dylan. Lori currently has one pet, Curly, a twelve year old yorkie-poo.
Tabitha enjoys being a wife to her husband Jake and is a mother of two boys, Landon and Evan. She has a dog named Saddie and a cat named Max. Her hobbies include going camping, walking and spending time with her family.
Christy is our Kennel Manager and has been with us for 10 years. Christy has a very big heart and always goes above and beyond to make sure each of our patients that stay with us have the very best of experiences. She has four cats of her own, Jessie, Tiger, Milo and Otis, all rescues. When she is not working she loves to go hiking, walking and enjoys spending time in the rivers or at the pool. She also loves watching scary movies or any movies involving animals. Her favorite color is pink and favorite food is sushi.
Lindsay has been a member of our team since January 2017. She has always been passionate about animal care and well-being and has been a great asset to our team as a kennel assistant. In our time with us she has always showed optimism and care toward our clients and staff and she has made it her mission to take advantage of any opportunities to learn as much as she can to help animals in need. Lindsay has 2 cats and 2 dogs and enjoys caring for and spending time with them n her spare time.
Angelita has been a team member since November of 2017.
She began her career in animal healthcare as a pet sitter in 2009 and went on to become a certified Dog Trainer through Animal Behavior College. She has worked as a Kennel Attendant and Dog Trainer since 2011 and is also a Canine Good Citizen Evaluator. Angelita also travels and shows dogs with the American Kennel Club and enjoys spending time with and showing her dogs in her spare time.
Suzanne first started grooming in 1989. She began grooming at Clarkesville Vet in 2006. Suzanne grooms all types and sizes of dogs, and she also grooms cats. When she is not making all of our pets beautiful, she is hanging out with her large animal family of seven dogs and three cats.
Robbin began working for Cornelia/ Clarkesville Veterinary Hospitals in 1994. She started as a vet assistant working with large and small animals. These days she works at the front desk at Clarkesville Veterinary Hospital. Robbin's hobby is horseback riding. She loves visiting with all the animals that come in to the hospital lobby
Lori has been a member of our front office team for sixteen years. She originally started out with us as a receptionist for our Cornelia office and relocated to the Clarkesville office upon its grand opening in 2012. She loves animals and is the proud owner of three pampered and very happy cats ("King Jewelyus, Princess Purrl-zzzz, & Contessa Cortana"). Lori enjoys spending her leisure time reading, cooking, gardening, and camping with her partner & best friend Sampson a/k/a Sam. Please stop by anytime to say hello and meet Lori at the front desk.
Rachel began working as a receptionist at Cornelia Veterinary Hospital in 1999, and was there for 8 years. After taking some time off to raise her 2 sweet boys, she returned to work in 2015, this time at Clarkesville Veterinary Hospital. Her pets include a dog, a cat, an African dwarf frog, fish, and gerbils. Her favorite past times include spending time with her family and reading.
Megan was born and raised in Habersham, Georgia. She lives on a small farm where they raise pigs, cows, chickens, and horses. She has one dog named Roo. She enjoys, swimming, riding horses, and spending time with,as well as, adventuring with Roo and her friends. She has always loved all animals, and that is what brought her to Clarkesville Veterinary Hospital. She enjoys meeting new people and their pets each day.
